Part 1: Valentines Crafts for Seniors

Introduction

Here is the second half of the series of 14 Valentines Crafts  for seniors (and kids as well as the rest of the family). Most of these crafts are suitable for those with some hand dexterity issues (as well as a few bits of knitting and sewing for those seniors with more nimble fingers) or have tutorials that can be further simplified.

While the focus is on decorations suitable for celebrating Valentines Day, these items are general enough in natural to be used year round for those whose fancies are tickled.

  • These Valentines Day related toppers can go on pens, pencils, markers or whatever writing implement your senior may have on hand. They're a snap to create using pipecleaners, craft foam, chenille sticks, sequins, construction paper, pompoms, or googly eyes depending upon the particular style.

  • Have your senior loved ones make craft cup sleeves from felt, newly bought socks, fabric or through knitting. Hand & machine sewing can be replaced with gluing for those seniors with hand dexterity issues. However, if the cup sleeves are meant for hot beverages (ie coffee, hot tea etc) then it would be best to sew the sleeves shut for those styles that require it.

Sewing can be replaced with gluing for those seniors with hand dexterity issues.
